I love a smoothie for breakfast. A smoothie is a bunch of healthy goodness, poured into a blender and mixed up into an easy-to-digest meal in a cup. You can even disguise those pesky green vegetables in a smoothie full of sweet, delicious berries. Keith has even coined the term “Jackie Breakfast”, which refers to a smoothie with an English muffin (preferably with peanut butter). This is my breakfast of champions.
I have been drinking smoothies for breakfast since I discovered cleansing. I am a fan of the Clean Program; I believe it is a great idea to “re-set” your body every so often. I like the concept that breakfast really means “break your fast” and that the first meal of the day should be a liquid one in order to give your digestive system a break. Keith scratches his head at all of this stuff, but I have taught him to love the breakfast smoothie nonetheless. This is my favorite “go to” smoothie. It tastes great, and you can make it very quickly. I even use frozen fruit when berries are not in season.
A great and healthy drink to have as breakfast or healthy snack.
