Chocolate Donuts with Citrus Glaze

Impress your friends with this chocolate cake donut recipe! Baked (not fried) and drenched in citrus glaze, this recipe is a perfect way to show your love.



2 C All-purpose Flour

1 1/2 C White Sugar

1 Tbsp Baking Powder

1 Tsp Salt

1/4 C Cocoa Powder

1 Large Egg

1 C Milk

1/4 C Orange Juice

2 Tbsp Butter

2 Tsp Vanilla

Zest from 1 orange

1/4 C Chopped Chocolate Cookies

For the Glaze:

2 C Powdered Sugar

1 Tsp Vanilla

2 Tbsp orange juice


1. Preheat the oven to 350°.
2. Spray donut pan with cooking spray.
3.In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
4.In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, vegetable oil, orange juice and vanilla.
5. Mix the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined.
6. Pour Mixture into a pastry bag without a tip and pipe mix into donut pan until about 3/4 filled.
7. Bake for 15 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool for 2-3 minutes and then remove from pans and place on cooling rack.
For the Glaze:
1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix till smooth.
2. Combine all the ingredients in a medium bowl and mix until smooth.
3. Dip one side of each donut in glaze and place back on rack.
4. Top with orange zest and chopped cookies.
5. Serve
