Rosemary & Parmesan Gourmet Popcorn is a grown up movie night snack that even the kids will love
What is better than movie night accompanied by fresh-popped popcorn? This family tradition is one that I treasure. When the kids were younger, they loved watching the Land Before Time movies. The sweet tale of Littlefoot and his journey is one that appeals to kids of all ages (including me). As a young father, I played these movies for the kids to occupy them while I caught up on housework. The idea was always a good one, but then they would ask for popcorn, and that buttery smell filled the house I would find myself sitting and enjoying the movie with them.
As the years go by and the kids get older, schedules become more complicated and hectic. The thoughts of family movie night and popcorn seem more like distant memories. You come home from work with a grandiose plan to relax and settle in, watch a great flick, munch on popcorn, and escape for a few hours. Then, just as you walk through the door, you are hit with: “What’s for dinner?”, “Can I go to Jake’s house?”, “Can Lexi come over?”, “I need poster board for school.” It is then that you realize that family movie night just isn’t going to happen.
These days, with so much going on in life, Jackie and I have come to realize that movie night usually ends up being just the two of us. So in celebration of the release of The Land Before Time: Complete Collection DVD at Walmart, we decided to add a little kick to classic popcorn. Family movie night just got gourmet. Our Rosemary & Parmesan Gourmet Popcorn recipe starts with the always reliable Pop Secret Homestyle Popcorn. We added truffle oil, fresh rosemary, and parmesan cheese. Now this is a snack suited for a sophisticated adult palate.
As we settled in for a relaxing evening, satisfied with our latest creation, I heard the strange sound of bedroom doors opening and teenagers emerging from their rooms, lured by the aroma of this incredible snack. Before you knew it, a movie night for two turned into family movie night once again. I was perfectly happy to delay the start of our feature to whip up two more bags of our newest treat, which thankfully appeals to adults and kids alike. It’s a good thing we purchased the 10 Pack of Pop Secret at Walmart. As I have always known, good food does bring people together.

Rosemary & Parmesan Gourmet Popcorn
A great tasting popcorn for adults and kids alike
- Total Time: 10 mins
- Yield: 1 bag 1x
Ingredients
- I bag Pop Secret Homestyle Popcorn
- ¼ C canola Oil
- 2 Tbsp truffle Oil
- ¼ C grated parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp finely chopped rosemary
Instructions
- Pop 1 bag of Popsecret Homestyle Popcorn, following package directions
- Pour popped corn into large bowl
- Drizzle both oils over corn and toss to coat.
- While tossing bowl shake parmesan cheese and rosemary over corn.
- Mix to thoroughly coat popcorn
- Call everyone in and enjoy.
