Sweet & Hot Chicken Wings

Description

A tried and true game day recipe that will please football fans and non-fans alike.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/2 C brown sugar
  • 1/2 C hot sauce
  • 1/4 C bbq sauce
  • 6 tbsp. butter
  • 1 jalapeño pepper
  • 2 dried hot peppers (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 2 green onions, diced

Instructions

  1. Place wings in stock pot and cover with water. Place on stove and turn burner to medium and cook for 45 minutes.
  2. Remove from pot and allow to cool
  3. Heat BBQ Grill to medium high heat.
  4. Place chicken wings on grill and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side being careful not to burn.
  5. While wings are cooking, melt butter and add to large mixing bowl.
  6. Add Brown sugar,bbq sauce, hot sauce and garlic and mix.
  7. Chop jalapeño pepper and add to sauce along with diced green onions.
  8. Split optional peppers with knife and place in sauce.
  9. When wings are done cooking, transfer to the sauce and mix to coat wings.
  10. Using tongs, shake off most of the sauce and place back on grill to allow sauce to carmelize on wings (about 4-5 minutes).
  11. Remove and place on serving plate. Use remaining sauce to dip wings into for added flavor.
