A green smoothie doesn't have to taste bad to be good for you. We don't believe in eating anything that doesn't taste good, even if it is the healthiest thing on the planet. The great thing about making smoothies is that you can "disguise" those bitter green vegetables with other sweet and yummy ingredients. In this case, we chose kale, almond butter, banana and almond milk. After lots of trial and error, we feel that this combination is the best tasting, power-packed way to start the day.
The new year brings with it a sense of renewal and optimism. We admit that we indulged a bit too much in our favorite treats over the holiday season. So January means it's time to re-set. A green smoothie or juice for breakfast is my way of life these days, and this is one of my favorites. The taste is rich and sweet, not bitter, and it is full of protein and important vitamins that provide energy throughout the day. Plus this green smoothie is a satisfying meal that does not leave you hungry. Cheers!
