Tuna Patties, made with fresh Ahi tuna, are light, juicy, and packed with flavor. A quick, healthy meal you’ll want to make on repeat.

  • Total Time: 20 mins
  • Yield: 3 patties 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the tuna patties:

  • 8 oz fresh ahi tuna
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup cracker crumbs (we like Club crackers or Ritz)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

For the dipping sauce:

  • 1/4 cup cocktail sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice

Instructions

  1. Dice tuna into ¼ inch pieces and place in a mixing bowl.
  2. Squeeze lime juice over tuna.
  3. Add salt and pepper, and Old Bay seasoning and mix to combine.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine cracker crumbs and chopped cilantro. Mix to a rough, oatmeal-like consistency (some larger pieces are fine).
  5. Whisk the egg in a separate bowl and add to tuna mixture.
  6. Add cracker crumb mixture to tuna and mix gently. The mixture will look wet — the crackers will absorb the liquid as it rests.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  8. Meanwhile, make the dipping sauce. Combine cocktail sauce, mayonnaise, and lime juice and stir to combine. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  9. Heat a sauté pan over medium high and add olive oil.
  10. Divide tuna mixture into 3 equal portions. Form each into a ball and press gently to flatten into a patty.
  11. Cook for 2 minutes per side until golden on the outside.
  12. Serve with fresh lime and dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Don't over mix. Keep larger pieces of tuna in the mix for the best texture and flavor.
  • Make ahead. Shape the patties up to a day in advance and refrigerate until ready to cook.
