This is no ordinary biscuit sandwich! Crispy fried chicken is topped with bacon, egg, and Hot Honey, sandwiched in between a piping hot, fluffy homemade biscuit. What could be better? It's sweet, savory, and spicy in every bite.... for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Like our famous Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, this Chicken Biscuit is a comfort food favorite. Serve it with Bloody Marys and Mac and Cheese for an old fashioned, southern style meal.

Ingredients
- CHICKEN BREAST: skinless, boneless chicken breast
- BISCUITS: use our Cheddar Cheese Biscuit recipe or use store bought biscuits
- EGGS: large or extra large eggs, fried (to top sandwich)
- RICE FLOUR: mixing rice flour with regular flour keeps the chicken light and crispy
- FLOUR: we like AP flour (All Purpose Flour) for this recipe, but any flour will do.
- MILK: whole milk, skim milk, or nut milk works
- PEPPER: freshly ground black pepper
- GARLIC POWDER: 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- SALT: sea salt or kosher salt
- BACON: thick cut smoked bacon
- HONEY: use local honey if you can
- HOT CHILI OIL: adds the spicy "kick" to this sandwich
- CANOLA OIL: (neutral oil) for frying

Instructions
- POUND CHICKEN BREAST: Place chicken breast in between plastic film and pound chicken to flatten to a consistent thickness. Cut chicken into 4 equal pieces.
- MIX WET INGREDIENTS: In a medium bowl, crack one egg, whisk, and add milk.
- MIX DRY INGREDIENTS: In a separate bowl, combine both flours. Add salt, pepper and garlic powder and mix.
- PREPARE SKILLET: Using a large skillet, heat oil over medium high heat for 2-3 minutes.
- BREAD THE CHICKEN: Bread chicken pieces by placing in flour mixture to coat and then dip in egg mixture and then back in flour mixture and repeat.
- FRY THE CHICKEN: Place floured chicken pieces in oil and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from oil and allow to drain on plate lined with paper towels.
- ASSEMBLE SANDWICH: Split biscuits. Place chicken and top with a mixture of the honey and chili oil by mixing the two together in a small bowl.
- DRIZZLE WITH HOT HONEY: Drizzle honey on chicken.
- ADD TOPPINGS: top with bacon and fried egg. Top with biscuit top and enjoy.
How to make hot honey
- combine ¼ C honey + 1 teaspoon chili oil in bowl.
- whisk together until combined
- drizzle on sandwiches, nuggets, or fries for an extra punch of flavor!

Variations
- Low Carb: go without the biscuit or use gluten free buns
- Baked Chicken: Bake instead of frying to save calories. After breading the chicken, place it in a medium sauté pan coated with cooking spray. Cook over medium heat until both sides are slightly brown. Then place in 350° oven for 15 minutes.
- BLT Chicken: omit the egg. Add tomato slices, lettuce leaves, and a slab of mayo.
Top tip
We like making homemade hot honey because you can regulate the amount of heat to your taste. You can also by bottles of hot honey in the grocery store.
Make ahead instructions
- Chicken can be made a day or two ahead and heated in the oven while your eggs and bacon are cooking
- Biscuits can be store bought or made a day ahead of time to cut down on prep time.
Storage
- Assembled sandwiches should be eaten right away.
- Store Chicken breasts (without toppings) for up to 3 days in the refrigerator in airtight container.
- Re-heat in a sauté pan with a little oil.
