Here you'll find unique and straightforward recipes that make every cook look like an experienced chef. We've done all the work so that you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying great meals (and cocktails!) with your family and friends.
The story of us
Keith has worked in the restaurant industry for most of his life. From his humble beginnings as a short order cook to his position of executive chef, Keith has always loved to explore different methods of food preparation and presentation. He has spent countless hours with chefs and restaurant entrepreneurs alike, developing menus and overseeing kitchens. He believes cilantro is quite possibly the perfect herb, and that a good cut of meat (well prepared) could solve most world problems. A true mid-westerner, Keith believes no meal is complete without potatoes.
Jackie is a fashion designer, knit nerd, and self-proclaimed foodie. Taking pictures of Keith's food has sparked a passion for photography that changed her life. She loves to try new foods and has had the privilege of indulging in different cuisines throughout the world. Jackie has a reputation for trying anything once and a weakness for Korean barbecue. She lives for a cup of strong black coffee and has never met a cheese she did not like.
About the blog
Superman Cooks was born when we met and began dining out together. Each time Jackie raved about something she ate, Keith would take a bite, roll it around in his mouth, and proclaim “I can make that”. And he did! We knew we had to share our love for cooking and food with others.
We began chronicling our food journey in 2014, and we've never looked back. Today Superman Cooks is a respected brand, known for its unique recipes and signature, "happy" & colorful food styling and photography. Keith cooks, Jackie shoots, and we style everything together.
what you can expect from us

- a balance of healthy and indulgent recipes. We don't believe in going without carbs, cheese or booze, but we do have lots of alternatives if you do.
- no gimmicky ingredients or fancy kitchen contraptions. Most of our recipes are made with simple ingredients that you have in your pantry. We don't own an a fancy blender or even an Instant Pot.
- honest opinions and real cooking tips from an experienced chef. We don't work with brands we don't actually use or wouldn't serve to our family.
We partner with national food and beverage brands like Bob's Red Mill, Caymus Vineyards, Chairman's Reserve Meats, Empress 1908 Gin and Mezetta (just to name a few) to create product specific recipes, wine pairings, and inspired cocktails. We also work with brands to do exclusive product and lifestyle photography for social media and websites.
Jackie has always felt that Keith's dark features and strong jaw resembled Clark Kent. "Superman" became a pet name for Keith, also referring to his ability to do anything he set his mind to. It seems silly now, but when we started the blog, we thought it was catchy and appropriate: "my superman can cook".
Most of our recipes are intentionally delicious and uncomplicated. If you're still finding your way around the kitchen, start with our Easy Homemade Meatballs, Pasta Pomodoro, or Tuna Patties. They are fan favorites that are ready in 30 minutes
We have lots of vegetarian options: Black Bean Quesadillas, Meatless Mushroom Ragù, and Brussels Sprouts Flatbread Pizza are some of our favorites. We don't do a lot of vegan recipes, but we do offer vegan options within some posts.
