Keith has worked in the restaurant industry for most of his life. From his humble beginnings as a short order cook at a local family restaurant, to his position of executive chef at the Park Hotel, Keith has always had an insatiable curiosity for the culinary arts. He has spent countless hours with chefs and restaurant entrepreneurs alike, and he loves to explore different methods of food preparation and presentation. He spent many years managing restaurants, developing menus, and overseeing kitchens.
More recently, Keith has focused on the sales side of the business, working for a major food distributor. He still enjoys collaborating with chefs and managers to create efficient and successful restaurant kitchens. Though his recent cooking is limited to his kitchen at home, and his "clientele" consists of family and friends (particularly under the age of sixteen), Keith still thoroughly enjoys experimenting in the kitchen. He believes cilantro is quite possibly the perfect herb, and that a good cut of meat (well prepared) could solve most world problems. A true mid-westerner, Keith feels that no meal is complete without potatoes.
Jackie is a fashion designer and self-proclaimed foodie. Originally from Ohio, Jackie moved to New York to follow her dreams. She is the designer and resident photographer for Superman Cooks. Jackie loves to try new foods and has been privileged to share in different cuisines all over the world. She has a reputation for trying anything once and a weakness for Korean barbecue. She lives for a cup of strong black coffee and has never met a cheese she did not like.
Superman Cooks was born when Keith and Jackie began dining out together. Each time Jackie raved about something she ate, Keith would take a bite, roll it around in his mouth, and proclaim “I can make that”. And he did!
