This Blackberry Smash Cocktail recipe is light, fresh and perfectly fizzy! It's easy to make and naturally sweetened with loads of fresh blackberries and honey.
This little Blackberry Vodka Cocktail tastes as good as it looks. Fresh blackberries and a splash of vodka make it the perfect, refreshing drink all year round. Like our Sparkling Cranberry Cocktail, this drink is fancy enough for holiday gatherings, a special celebration, or just an after dinner sip.

Ingredients
- FRESH BLACKBERRIES
- VANILLA EXTRACT: real vanilla extract works best
- HONEY: we like local honey as a sweetener for this recipe
- VODKA: we used Absolut Vodka for this recipe
- BLACKBERRY SELTZER: plain seltzer or soda water works too
- ROSEMARY: springs (for garnish)
- CRUSHED ICE

Instructions
- MAKE THE BLACKBERRY SIMPLE SYRUP: In a small sauce pan, combine blackberries and honey and heat over medium heat until berries are broken down, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and strain thru a fine mesh strainer. Discard the pulp and seeds.
- Add vanilla and stir.
- Fill 2 8 oz glasses with ice and add 2 oz each of the berry juice and vodka to each of the glasses.
- Fill glass to the rim with the blackberry seltzer and stir.
- Garnish with fresh berries and rosemany.
Variations
- BLACKBERRY SPRITZER: substitute Champagne or Prosecco for the seltzer for a sweet and bubbly sip!
- MIXED BERRY SMASH: add raspberries and blueberries to the berry mixture for a colorful and flavorful cocktail.
- MUDDLED BERRY MOJITO: muddle the berries directly in the glass and add fresh mint.
