- PURPLE GIN: EMPRESS 1908 GIN is what gives this cocktail its pretty color
- LIMONCELLO: 1 ounce
- LAVENDER SIMPLE SYRUP: buy pre-made Lavender Simple Syrup or make your own (directions below).
- LEMONADE: fresh lemonade works best for optimum flavor
- TONIC WATER: adds a bit of sparkle and fizz to this cocktail
- LEMON: fresh lemon wedge (for garnish)
- EDIBLE FLOWERS: dried lavender flowers (for garnish)
- RIMMING SUGAR: purple sugar for rim (optional)

Make your own lavender syrup is made by simmering water, sugar, and dried lavender. You can either strain the flowers from the mixture or they can be incorporated into the drink.
Instructions
- Mix & Shake Cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the gin, limoncello, lavender simple syrup, and lemonade. Shake for 30 seconds.
- Rim Glass: Rim 8 oz. glass with purple sugar. You can buy this triple berry sugar rimmer, or make your own by adding 2 drops of purple food gel to ½ cup sugar and mix for 2 minutes until combined.
- Pour Cocktail: Fill glass with ice. Pour cocktail over ice and top with tonic.
- Garnish: Stir and garnish with a lemon wedge dipped in dried lavender flowers (or other edible flowers).

- 1 ½ oz. Empress 1908 Gin
- 1 oz Limoncello
- 1 oz lavender simple syrup (by pre-made Lavender Simple Syrup or use see recipe below)
- 1 ½ oz lemonade
- splash of tonic water
- lemon (for garnish)
- dried lavender flowers (for garnish)
- purple sugar for rim (optional)
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the gin, limoncello, simple syrup and lemonade and shake for 30 seconds.

How to make Lavender Simple Syrup:
- Mix ½ cup sugar and 1 cup water in a sauce pan along over medium heat for 3-4 minutes (until sugar has dissolved and liquid has reduced by ¼).
- Remove from heat and drop 1 tablespoon organic lavender flowers into the mixture.
- Allow mixture to cool in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- You can either strain the flowers from the mixture or they can be incorporated into the drink.

Actually, we have noticed that the blue color in the gin varies by bottle. If you are uncomfortable adding more gin, then natural food coloring is a good alternative. You can also buy butterfly pea flower powder on Amazon & specialty food markets.
