What's in a Negroni?

The perfect Classic Negroni is made of equal parts Gin, Vermouth, and Campari.

Invented in Florence, Italy in 1919, the Negroni cocktail is said to have been created by Fosco Scarselli in his bar, Café Casoni, after the Count Camilo Negroni asked him to strengthen his favorite cocktail (the Americano) by replacing soda water with a splash of gin. Scarselli garnished this drink with an orange slice, rather than the usual lemon twist.

For our Negroni Spritz recipe, we put a pretty twist on the classic by adding Chardonnay. Like our Champagne Cocktail, his cocktail recipe looks elegant and tastes even better. It "lightens up" the the traditional cocktail, making it refreshing and easy to sip... all year round.
