While we admit that Cinco de Mayo has become an Americanized holiday, we are always up for celebrating with Mexican food and refreshing cocktails. When we found out about the new drink site launched by Absolut, we were both thrilled and intrigued. Absolut provides a comprehensive list of cocktails with brilliant step by step videos to help anyone become a mixologist. So while we normally only post our own original recipes on Superman Cooks, we had to make an exception here. Once we tried the Señorita, we were hooked; we had to share this incredible cocktail with our readers. We just added a bit of cranberry juice to the recipe, and garnished it with fresh mint. Salud!

What is simple syrup?
Hi Brooke! thanks for reaching out. Simple syrup is mixture of sugar + water in equal quantities, cooked over low heat until sugar melts. So for the Pink Señorita recipe, use 1/2 c sugar + 1/2 c water. This will make enough for at least 4 drinks, and stores well in the fridge if you don't want that many right away. Cheers!
Equal parts of water and sugar; simmer in a small saucepan until dissolved then cool and use as directed.
Do you use regular grapefruit juice or Ruby Red juice?
Hi Michelle,
Thanks for visiting!! Any grapefruit juice will do, but we prefer freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice for optimum flavor.
Hi! I would love to make this in a big drink dispenser for a bridal shower, what kind of ratios would you do for a very large batch?
Thanks for the comment and wanting to use our recipe. I would use 16 oz of tequila, 1 quart of grapefruit juice, 6 ounces simple syrup and 6 oz cranberry juice. This should make about 12-15 drinks. We hope this helps. And enjoy the bridal shower...
Yum! This is my kind of cocktail! I just came across it on Interest and repined it for this summer!
Thank you so much, we love it as well. Let us know how you like it if you make it!!!
